  A binary or list containing bytes and/or iodata.

  This datatype is used to represent data that is meant to be output
  using any I/O module. For example: [;;4mfile:write/2[0m or [;;4m[0m
  [;;4mgen_tcp:send/2[0m.

  To convert an [;;4miodata/0[0m term to [;;4mbinary/0[0m you can use
  iolist_to_binary/2. To transcode a [;;4mstring/0[0m or [;;4m[0m
  [;;4municode:chardata/0[0m to [;;4miodata/0[0m you can use [;;4m[0m
  [;;4municode:characters_to_binary/1[0m.
